BHO Problems

Hello everyone.

After COMODO CIS finished installation, it asked for an initial quick scan. It run through some registry keys and hanged on the Java SSV Helper Plug-In. OK, this thing was obsolete and disabled alnyway, so I just deleted it and restarted CIS.

Next quick scan hanged on the Office Document Cache Handler Plug-In. Once again, I deleted this one and restarted CIS.

Right now it is hanged on a Skype Browser Helper. So what should I do as long as CIS hates all my BHOs, including the useful ones?

How long do you wait on those files before stopping the scan?

Also, how did you upgrade to CIS V6.0? Did you uninstall the old version before installing the new one?

Was waiting about 20 hours for the Office BHO.

I`m using the 6.0.264710.2708 version right now.

First time I upgraded over some old v5.* without uninstalling it first. However, I already tried uninstalling this v6 and installing again.

Guess I could try uninstalling it once more, then wiping out all the traces of CIS from my system before installing back, but Im having some firewall rules for a home LAN already and cant see any way to export them, so let`s keep it for a last resort.

Please try reinstalling it by following the advice I give in this post.

If it still has this same problem after reinstalling then it is probably a bug. If that does turn out to be the case please create a bug report in this section of the forum. Be sure to follow the format provided in this post.
