I promise I’ve searched for the answer to this question but…
I run Comodo Firewall 3.14.XXXX on a Windows 7 64 bit system. I know that Comodo V4 is available but not through the ‘check for updates’ button … as a result I don’t know whether I should wait for V4 through that feature or go ahead and download V4 from Comodo & install manually.
Any advice / explanation for the discrepancy v much welcomed!
Currently, the only way to upgrade is to uninstall v3 and install v4. However, saved v3 configurations (rules, settings, etc.) are not compatible with v4 (at the moment, don’t know if this will change). v4 was supposed to be available via the v3 built-in updater after v4 was released (this would allow you to keep all your current settings), but it hasn’t showed up yet. Don’t know if/when there will be one.
I’m holding off upgrading to V4 because it would be such a huge chore to reconfigure all of my computers.
It never ceases to amaze me how Comodo can design the most sophisticated security program ever written but can’t be bothered to write a simple configuration file converter routine for the upgrade program.
