I did use Google picture search to search for “Japanese homes”, but one of the pictures did take me to some porn site that I could not leave due to some script, I was forced to use Alt+Ctrl+Del to kill Firefox, but when I restarted FF it did automatically go to the last site that did not let me go.
My questions is:
1: How do I turn of that function in FF that loads the last visited site?
2: How do I prevent that similar script bad is started in FF.
3: How do I block all sites that begins with http://exit.*
I has tasted Script-blocker, but I did not like that program for it gave me some kind of script paranoia.
Yeah, ever time you kill firefox by task manager it does that.
Starts up on the last open tab, which really defeats the purpose of
the hard shutdown in first place!!
I thought the settings tools>options>general>“when FireFox starts” and than from the drop down window choose:
“show my Home page” rather than “show my windows and tabs from last time”,might be the answer, but it still loads the last tabs after a hard closure (Crash,or Task Manger shut-down)
Now I use Sandboxie,so I just delete the sandbox and start up a fresh one,but I do remember that aggravating behavior.
I do know that I could not live with No-Script Firefox add-on,so uninstalled it and used a toolbar button from the
“Tool bar button” add-on, “toggle Java Script” I leave it, off as default, and it really put an end to the fake scans that pop up.
Also,when I need Java Script,like for a speed test,Sucunia inspector,etc,one click,and I can permit Java Script.
You could try this: Type “about:config” without the quotes in the address bar. Scroll down to Browser.sessionstore.resume_from_crash and change the true to false.
Let me know if this works for you. This would be for question #1 Don’t know about 2 or 3.
Not meanin to talk outta turn here, Mista Man,but this gives Toby the chance to start a brand new session,or to restore that old on.
Lands sakes!! that shore is an improvement!!
Mista Man Sir.
The “about:config” trick (Browser.sessionstore.resume_from_crash = false) did solve the problem with pages that reloaded after a hard shutdown.
I has tested “Noscript”, but I did not like it, I just want to block some bad scripts that prevent me from leavings sites or prevent me from using the right mouse button and not scripts on normal sites like Comodo and Google and so on.
But I shall use NoScript, “better safe than sorry” or how you say it, thank you for the tips and suggestions.
