AVG acts as a rogue

I think AVG is acting like a rogue now. Here are a few reasons.

  1. The link scanner sucks. It rates some of the most dangerous websites as a check
  2. You have to do a system restore to uninstall it.
  3. Horrible detection rate.
  4. After your pro license is up it turns into scareware
    What do you guys think?

I agree that’s Linkscanner is very falsely report some website.

I didn’t have any problem when Install/Uninstall it.

For me AVG (Free) detection rate are higher than some paid program. But the FP was highest compared with other free AV.

I didn’t use pro version yet. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yes, when I tried AVG, I also had McAfee Site Advisor installed at the same time. When you did a search, LinkScanner said that the websites were safe. Site Advisor had a red cross next to most of the search results showing that they were bad. I don’t think I ever saw a red cross or whatever they use to signify a dangerous website from LinkScanner. Also I found AVG had a few false-positives.
