AV Updates for CIS Version 3.12 To Discontinue

Hi All,
This is to inform you that Comodo Internet Security Version 3.12.* will have last Antivirus update on 1st Dec, 2009.

From 2nd Dec, 2009 onwards, we will be releasing certain signs, which won’t be compatible with CIS 3.12 and therefore this change.

All users who have switched to CIS 3.13.* will continue receiving regular Antivirus updates.

Thanks for informing us. I assume you are referring to the release of signatures for polymorphic viruses?

heck!! from novermber 25, my Av stopped updating , it has been four days and security alerts kept on flshing , so i immediately updated to 3.13 today , it has been hours but my AV was not updated… (:AGY)

If you uninstall 3.12, then

Please copy your original bases.cav from C:\Program Files\COMODO\COMODO Internet Security\scanners to a Temp holder.
And then uninstall 3.12
Then install the 3.13
Reboot your PC in safe mode (press F8 while booting, select safe mode booting PC)
Copy the bases.cav from Temp holder to C:\Program Files\COMODO\COMODO Internet Security\scanners.
Reboot your PC normally.
After booting the PC, click CIS to check CIS version, you can find the signature db will near up-to-date.
And it can save your time for updating the huge singature DB.

We strongly suggest NO for this. It may work now but any future sign which is released to CIS 3.13 can result in unexpected behavior if bases.cav from CIS 3.12 is used.

It could prove useful for those who are not subscribed to these forums but use CIS.

They have already been provided latest console scanner. It’s up to them when they update.
