AV database updates every hour or so?

Hi,
newbie so be gentle. I have been trying Comodo (free) for a couple of months with only one problem:
I constantly get a balloon saying AV database is updating followed shortly afterwards by a balloon saying database has been updated.This is more a nuisance than anything else,I tried “stopping” the balloons but no joy.
I searched the forum but couldn’t find an answer to my specific problem.
Does it really find updates that often? do I have to live with it?

Those annoying balloon messages are disabled by default in the last version which you can download and install here - version 3.10.102363.531.

Please auto update via CIS or do a reinstall.
