AV database update stuck

I have CIS version 7.0.317799.4142 installed. The database version is 18507 and I have a warning that this is NOT up to date. When I select fit it or manual update it is stuck at the first step “check for signature updates” for about 20 hours now. IN other threads that are several weeks old I read that there were issues with update servers, but would this not be resolved by now?

It would be handy to be able to download and install database updates manually.

and download V5.8. Click on the question mark at the upper right edge of CIS main window, choose About and select Import Virus Database.
Mod edit: Replaced the URL with a shorter version directed to the same location for readability, Captainsticks.

Thank you, I downloaded the base.cav and when I import that file nothing happens … the version stays the same. I also copied it to the comodo scanner folder after renaming the old file, and again no change.

In CIS V7 it is the ‘bxxxxxxx.cav’ file that needs to be renamed to old, not the ‘bases.cav’ file.

I had the same issue. I download manually database, and rename. Now works fine. Even update is self fix
Please add to guide Cis 7x and this tip. Some people like me, do not know how to fix update
And spend few hours to resolve this problem mostly
