AV database has vanished

I apologize in advance if I’m starting this topic in the wrong place. Well, what can I say? I simply booted up my computer today… and… well… You can see everything in the screenshot. Last update was about 8 hrs ago and it went just fine. So, what the what is this? If I choose to update it it starts downloading the whole db.

corrupt database, maybe?

Not unless it can become corrupted all on its own.

Are you using another security product?

I’ve been using CIS alongside Zemana AntiMalware Premium for quite some time. Never had any problems.

If possible, try excluding:
C:\Program Files\COMODO\COMODO Internet Security\scanners*

The 1st one’s empty, the 2nd one’s been excluded all along.

That’s normal. First one is where it’s temporarily stored. Try re-downloading database and check its contents. :slight_smile:

It works fine after downloading it all over again. But I’m still concerned because of this disapearing act.

Can you also check if there’s any dump file under %ProgramData%\COMODO\CisDumps ?

It is empty.

You could also run : chkdsk C: /R

/R Locates bad sectors and recovers readable information

  1. Run diagnostic and sent result
  2. Check folder C:\Program Files\COMODO\COMODO Internet Security\scanners* for file bxxxxx.cav and send us
  3. Provide your AV Database version from about dialog
