and they avoid any question on their forum about comodo ?

Yes maybe, but let’s not forget that Comodo does indeed protect you even if the av doesn’t detect a new sample, thanks to Default Deny you will be safe, this is why Comodo is great. For me Comodo earn my trust from day 1.

You mean in your opinion? You can’t state this as a fact.

Only Comodo? What about Symantec? How about them?

After this it’s difficult to trust AV-C. I wish this conflict will be resolved.

Personally I don’t really trust any site or such that compares security suits, they tend to ignore certain features etc, besides I’m not switching from CIS anyway so I don’t really care what the AV numbers say as long as my HIPS and Firewall works fine, which they do.

I don’t blindly trust all these testing companies (AV-C, AV-Test, VB, Shadowserver etc) nevertheless I find their data useful and worth study.

I NEVER used comodo before so what prove it as a good av ?
Even free av like avast go tests

  1. There is NO standard test which can be used to compare different AVs.
  2. Testing an AV against all known malware would take weeks or months, and during the test many thousands of new malware would have been created.
  3. It is impossible to test against all zero-day (unknown) malware because it is always changing.
  4. It is impossible to replicate tests using different AVs against all zero-day malware because it is always changing.
  5. 100% protection is impossible because existing protection mechanisms may not work against new types of malware.

Every AV has some tests showing it as good and other tests showing it as bad. The best you can do is find out as much as you can about different products and their reputations. Make sure that you read up on the “Default Deny” mechanism used by CIS because this is fundamental to how it works. You should also read the CIS Certifications, Test Results & Reviews thread on this forum.

AV-Test is the most respected organisation in the world. This is why all the magazines and companies use their results. AV-Test is a much bigger organisation than av-comparatives who is mainly run by 2 partners who operate their business as cowboys imo.

ICSA is also very respected. In the AV world, if you want to be accepted, then ICSA and AV-Test is the 2 organisations that everyone relies on. All the major corporations and major publishers always rely on these 2 organisations when it comes to AV testing.

We found both AV-Test and ICSA to be a very professional organisations, hence we continue to work with them.
