Hi,
CIS has detected a new private network with IP of 192.168.56.1.
My lan (wireless) only assigns IPs of 192.168.0.x so can anyone tell me what this means?
I don’t want to turn off the feature, just want to know where this IP number came from & what I should do about it.

Are you using any virtual machine software, vbox, vmware…
I just had the same thing happen to me…
my router is 192.168.X.X but the ip it was trying to connect to was 169.254.32.35
I just closed out - no problem with connection just very strange.
Using Win XP and no vmware-like app installed.
