I’m sure the answer is here somewhere but searches find similar items but not quite the answer.
How do I get CIS to automatically update and install? Having prompted updates does NOT work on kids’ computers. I must be missing something basic but I am definitely missing it.

The new v4 is not on the automatic update yet. May be this week it will arrive.
What version of CIS are you running? Look under Miscellaneous → About.

I don’t so much want the latest version of the engine as to understand how to make the daily/weekly virus signature database update automatically. A message saying “new updates available”, or similar, gets ignored by kids.
Make sure you are updated to 3.14 to be sure able to update to v4 when it gets announced. The reason why I advice this is because Comodo does a bad job with version jumps like that.
The AV gets updated automatically on both 3.14 and v4 unless you disable that. The interface and setting of the AV in 3.14 and v4 are the same as with 3.13. To be certain the av updates automatically go to Antivirus → Scanner Settings → Real Time protection → make sure “automatically update virus database before scanning” is selected.
When the update to v4 is there you will get a balloon alert notifying there is program update. Nothing is downloaded or installed until you manually update it.
