I am a gamer and I thought that it’d be pretty handy that CIS had and automatic gaming mode, so when I enter to the game it turns on and when I come out to turn off. It’d be pretty handy because I sometime forget to turn it off
And maybe an option to disable this functionality (turning on and off the GM)

Despite my usual stance against “unneeded extra’s” bloating the software this is actually a needed one. Since the majority of home systems with Comodo installed on them will eventually be owned by families as well as the fact that gamers ARE a significant driving force behind IT we do deserve to occasionally be pandered to
How does Comodo or some other software identify identify that you are playing the game ?
I think if a timer to turn off the Gaming mode would do the second thing.
i dont think comodo can detect if the user is playing a game. The more feasible thing would be to detect any application that goes into full screen mode and change the name from game mode to full screen mode. Maybe give the user an alert saying example.exe is about to go into full screen mode allow or deny. Then have an exclusions list that users can add there games etc and comodo wont give an alert. This will help prevent ransomware aswell
Looks like a good idea.
But, there are many programs/apps that go full screen. For example Picasa Photo Viewer, any media player power point presentations etc.,
We definitely don’t want to get such alerts every time I watch a movie or view a picture in Picasa Viewer.
exactly but its the only way that i can think of for an automatic game mode without allowing ransomware to go full screen.
I think a better method would be to define your games in advance. Basically, a games list. Then when an application on the list is run, CIS enters game mode.
good idea

A special “game” policy like “trusted/installer” policy can be selected when we run a game for the first time or from settings. Afterwards, everytime it is run, this policy is automatically applied.
And an additional +10 :-TU for this addendum to the original idea … maybe edit original post and add this quote??
