Articles, How To's : Please tell us what you would like to see?

This can be any article in the field of security, trust, internet, computers etc that you would like to have. We will be compiling a list of all these articles, (hundreds or thousands if need be) and lock our content writers into their cells and feed them bread (stale bread is acceptable  ) and water and get them to write these articles!

So go ahead and please tell us (tell us multiple articles to write if you wish) what articles or how to’s you would like to see.

thanks
Melih

I’d like to see a series of "how-to"s on the installation process of each Comodo product .

Ideally these would be flowchart type thingys, where users could see what options are available, rather than just a straight line, accept the defaults type install.

I would like to see “how to” respond to certain alerts (When to make them trusted, installer/updater, browser, etc) & Also on when to Cancel an Alert and Allow an Alert.

Cheers,
Josh

There is definitely a need for a beginner’s manual for CFP with many pictures and in several languages.
It’s no use if CFP is the best firewall when no one is using it. And I heard several times that CFP is too complicated to use. So I second the request of 3xist: An easy guide how to answer different kinds of alerts. When to expect alerts and when one should be cautious.

BTW, translation of the firewall into other languages would help greatly!

I would like to know more about CFP syntax, what syntax can be used to create rules in D+ e.g. %ProgramFiles%, %SystemDrive%, %windir%, %USERPROFILE%, what devices : \Device* ; Is it possible: “%HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\MYIE2\Folder%\Config” instead "C:\Program Files\MYIE2\Config" , more about COM interface and so on…

For Geswall examples you can see here: http://www.gentlesecurity.com/docs/namesyntax.html

We should start with the easy stuff first (newbie-Intermediate) Then Technical (Advanced-Expert).

Cheers,
Josh

Yes, of course, but Im asking above because that is very difficult to find on the net (for me)
It seems to me that only way to find anything about above is to experimenting.
Simple article of supported syntax, variables names and characters with some logic (whats work and what doesent) will be quite enough …

I would like to see some kind of course of what type of dangers we encounter here in the web today and what are the ways newbies can protect them selves against these dangers. I am talking about “old” threats like: viruses, ad-aware, tracking cookies… but also about newer and bigger threats like, exploits, ddos attacks, dns attacks, router/modem attacks, spoofing, phising, cross site scripting attacks, ransomeware, crimeware, spyware, keyloggers, port attacks etcetera…

I want all most common and dangerous threats be explained and there should be a description about how hackers try to fool people: “the art of deception” (read: “social engineering”)…

Also there should be described solutions against these attacks and how the different solutions work…

The goal of this course is to learn people the dangers of the virtual world and how to deal with it with less security solutions, so they defend their selfs with knowledge…

the course must contain advice and clues how to recognize dangers and how to respond to that danger… You can think about the things you can check when doing internet transactions…

I want to write this kind of course myself for my family, but if the staff of COMODO CAN do it, it will be very nice and more informative…

Why we need this course? well, because the CEO of COMODO and myself believe in prevention and prevention is better than healing…

If people have the right knowledge and act by that knowledge you have all the prevention you need…

triple x.

@triple x:
Very good idea. A catalogue of evils in the internet and which Comodo pruduct could assist in avoiding these evils. But it should not just read like advertising/marketing material but should be honest and tell that in some cases you need brain.exe to catch everything. And that this article is actually nothing more but an update to brain.exe
