ARP Cache settings

[font=tahoma]In the Attack Detection Settings, I’ve found two boxes:
[ ] Protect the ARP Cache
[ ] Block Gratuitous ARP Frames

I was recommended to check both of those boxes from:
https://forums.comodo.com/empty-t30535.0.html

I would like to know what they do and if it is really recommended to enable them.

Thanks.

The ARP cache is a table which stores mappings between Data Link Layer addresses and Network Layer addresses…

The Data Link Layer addresses are usually MAC addresses and the Network Layer addresses are most frequently IP addresses…

I Would Recommend To Enable Them :)…

[font=tahoma]Thanks CGPMaster for the prompt reply.

So I guess you mean I should check both of them then. Can you explain what you mean by storing the “mappings” between the Data Link Layer addresses and Network Layer addresses?

And the Network Layer addresses are frequent IP address from what?

Thanks again, happy holidays.

The help file explains it all clearly.

Alright, then. Thanks paperclip (:TNG).
