Apache not working, even if I allow the application

Hello all,

There seems to be a bug in the Comodo Personal Firewall. I got an Apache Server running here, and I set it to allow both TCP and UDP In/Out. However after I turn on the Application firewall, Apache only works for a few minutes, afterwards the connection gets broke and it stops working.

Date/Time :2006-08-11 19:58:50
Severity :Medium
Reporter :Application Monitor
Description: Application Access Denied (Apache.exe:192.168.1.201:http(80))
Application: C:\Apps\Apache2\bin\Apache.exe
Parent: C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe
Protocol: TCP In
Remote: 192.168.1.201:http(80)

When I turn off the Application Monitor everything is fine, but as soon as I turn it back on it will stop working after a few minutes.

That while I set it to Allow anything on any port from any IP and I disabled the advanced checks aswell.

Any way howto solve this?

Can you please show us all your logs as well as your application rules? Please try to delete all your logs and reproduce this while looking at the logs.

The log entry in my previous post was taken right after I cleared the logs. See the screenshots for the application entries. (Note that it says disabled, but that is because I disabled it until I found a solution.

I have installed Apache 2.2 and it is working correctly. First when you install, CPF should ask you about httpd.exe tries to listen on port 80. Then when you browse locally i.e. http://127.0.0.1, CPF will ask you about httpd.exe trying to connect the Internet. After allowing these popups, you should be able to connect LOCALLY. If you want to connect apache from another computer, you must also add a network control rule to allow incoming connections on port 80.

According to your logs, you have denied a popup about apache.

Hope this helps,

I am running Apache 2.0.59. Everything is set to allow in the application window. Next to that if I enable the application firewall Apache does work (the web server is reachable for a few minutes) but afterwards it just stops working. Also if you are saying I clicked denied, is there any way to undo this? As there is no rule that denies access.

If there is no rule, then denying should not persist. We are going to release 2.3 BETA on thursday. Perhabs you can check with it to see if the problem is there.
