any way to disable comodo dragon updates???

Hi guys,

Comodo dragon is fast, and thats why i have it on this netbook.

I wouldnt put it on my main pc yet, as i still prefer an old version of firefox (version 2.0.0.12) the last-latest 2.X version to released in 2008, to be exact…anyway…

the only thing i find really annoying right now about this browser is the pop-up that comes up everytime you start the browser, “update is available would you like to install?” or something like that, i always click NO.

i find it intrusive and rather annoying that i cant disable the auto-updates! (or at least that seems to be the case) i cant see anything in the options that allows me to disable the auto-update feature…

if there is a work-around, please let me know  does anyone know the specific address to block in hosts file maybe?

thanx,
-jon

sucsess!!

open your hosts file in notepad
located in “C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc”

add these lines to the bottom of the hosts file

127.0.0.1 download.comodo.com
127.0.0.1 update.comodo.com
127.0.0.1 comodo.com
127.0.0.1 www.comodo.com (this may or may not be necessary as it kills the main site but…)
127.0.0.1 updates.comodo.com

save as “any file” hosts.txt (then just rename back to “hosts” with no extension)

-enjoy! + peace-out!

p.s i never tested which one was actually causing the auto-update + pop-up, someone can do that manually if they wish.
