I’ve been using PDF Creator for some time as a print engine, bulk converter, and so on. Still have Foxit Reader as default reader (although just recently it stopped showing the pages; not sure why…).
For a full-fledged alternative to Acrobat, I decided to go with NitroPDF, as I need to scan docs into PDF and then be able to edit, etc… All the stuff that Acrobat does, but without the cost, space, or system resource usage. Scans result in very large files that have to be resized. It’s a bug in their code that doesn’t recognize the scanner’s settings for page size, etc. They are now aware of it, with documentation… Hopefully next release will fix that issue. Their print driver for converting other files to PDF works a little better than PDF C, but doesn’t have bulk capabilities.
