Antivirus engine not initilised, and cannot find bases.cav file.

Virus Signiture Database Version: 0
Other security software: Avast!, AVG (No conflicts found before this error occured)
Date this first occured: 20th December 2008.

When I click update antivirus, the error appears.

I have read and attempted the repair options on https://forums.comodo.com/anti_virus_faq/antivirus_engine_not_initializedcorrupt_virus_data_base-t32072.0.html but to no avail as I could not find bases.cav in either folder. As stated above, I have other antivirus software installed, but there have been no conflicts before. This happened after I system restored and my internet went down for 1 month.

Try disabling the real-time scanning on all the other anti-viruses.

To replace the bases.cav file, did you try booting into safe mode and going to

“X:\program files\comodo\comodo internet security\repair” and copying “bases.cav” to

“X:\program files\comodo\comodo internet security\scanners”
