Anti Virus Updater failing in 3.8 . ending in .447 32 BIT XP SP 3

the cpupdate.exe works initially, however the cpf.exe requests non ISP DNS , custom policy mode. Then the lag i have noticed at 5% update then at 30% update. I cuts out completely where usualy just lags.

I have changed to safe mode and set cpf.exe as trusted application. Still laging at 30% as usually though. Maybe a new virus effecting svchost.exe, not sure.
ANTI VIRUS UPDATING IS FAILING!
