Android Custom ROMS - Anyone using?

I’m currently using Blackout ICS Incredible on my old Desire. Just wondering if anyone else is using a custom ROM and if so, what their thoughts are on whatever they’re using?

I guess no one is using any of these, but if you have a DHD and want a replacement for Gingerbread, I’d suggest, for now at least, ViperDHD It offers the ability to ‘de-sense’ and it makes a huge difference to performance and battery.

I am using custom,
Phone: Samsung Galaxy sII (unlocked)
ROM: NeatRom Lite 4.0 (Jelly Bean 4.1.2)
Kernel: Dorimanx 7.40
Additional Mods:
19 blue toggles v2,
19 toggles blue square mod,
Default font mod

Nice looking Mod John. I like the the ‘toggles’ mod. I’ll have to see if there’s something similar available for my DHD - One day I’ll buy a new phone…

I want to try such things but from what I know it’s not safe to mess with the Android default settings. Rooting Android can make it useless. How true is it?

There’s always a risk when rooting or flashing a new ROM but providing you follow the instructions carefully, you should be fine. Even if you do manage to ‘brick’ the device, it may be recoverable. Take a look through the forums John and I linked to above and look for a thread about your phone.

yap, i agree with him, i have ZTE LIGHT TB V9 and SAMSUNG GALAXY TAB 2 7"

i already tried

  • ROM CM7.2 (stable version for V9 and i think this is rom is the best 2013 form v9 you can see in mysite aryanto165.com (indonesian language sorry…) :frowning:
  • ROM CM9, CM10 and last CM10.1 it’s ok but have some bugs
  • ROM sungsonic (i think this is the best ROM for SAMSUNG GALAXY TAB 2 7" in 2013)

but please if u want to upgrade, do it carefully (use backup always)

Once your phone is rooted, the sky is the limit on what you want your phone to do for you.
(e.g. Unlock your phone, change anything such as boot animation. Add modified files to customize your phone, run apps for better user experience such as Titanium Backup, endless possibilities)
