I was able to mount the backup fine in windows 7 (64bit). I then installed windows 8.1 (64bit) (clean install, not update), and erased the drive that I had backed up.
Once I had everything set up, I attempted to mount the backup and I am now receiving the error “An error occurred while mounting the selected backup.”
I’ve tried running the program in admin mode and I still receive the error.
