???hi everyone.i was just wondering if anybody could help me out here please.when i installed the new version of comodo i chose to use the secure dns service.in my network properties window it shows my preferred dns servers as 156.154.70.22. and my alternate as 156.154.71.22. i presume these are correct addresses for the servers.? however when i look in a cmd window it states my dns servers are 82.132.254.3. and 82.132.254.2. now im confused.am i using the comodo secure dns or not.? why are different addresses present…any help would be great.thank you. :comodorocks:
May be you exited the dialogue box with Cancel instead of OK and didn’t change things after all?
hi.thank you for the reply.ive tried that and to no avail.it still gives a different dns server in the cmd window.im using a cellular usb dongle on my laptop.any help would be appreciated.i dont want to miss out on an extra layer of protection.many thanks. :ilovecomodo:
Are you setting the DNS in your router or just in windows? If you are using a router it may be set to the other DNS numbers. I would leave the pc settings to be assigned automatically and set the router to the Comodo numbers.
That all depends on how you have things set up. If you aren’t sure, just put the addresses in both the network settings and your router.
hi.im not using a router.im using a mobile broadband dongle in my laptop.i just typed in the preferred dns servers in the network and sharing section of windows.is there something else i need to do like configure the firewall maybe.im lost as to what to do.i selected the comodo dns when i installed the internet security v5.? i need help.many thanks. :comodorocks:
You may also have to flush the dns cache.
hi…“flush the dns cache”? would you care to tell me how i do that please…would be appreciated.many thanks to you sammo. ???
At a CMD prompt, type ipconfig /flushdns
hi.yep i just did that and still no joy.im still getting the same dns servers set of numbers.im totally stumped with this…many thanks anyway my good friend. ???
Can you show us screenshot of your Network Connections screen with the properties of your network device opened? Pictures sometimes tell more than a thousand words.
See the attached image for an example (it is not showing your exact situation; but you will get the idea).

It could be that your dns is set in the cellular network card. You may have to live with it unless your cellular provider can help.
.im still having problems with my dns.Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7600]

this is my co,and prompt display.can anybody tell me why i cant change my dns at all please…many thanks.bye for now. :ilovecomodo:
Cellular services are, as a rule, tied to the internal DNS configuration of your cellular ISP.
this is not always true i think , i’am using a cellular ISP and when i installed NIS2011 the norton secure dns was working fine … but not with comodo dns unfortunately …
I’am having the same problem like DARREN.1972
one more strange thing , I installed a virtual machine on my pc , and i got cis 5 installed , and the comodo dns is working on the vm perfectly !!
any help ?
solved !
I changed the dns settings for the cellular isp program ( the one u use for dialing up your connection ) that comes with the usb dongle itself , and it’s working perfectly now
