always lockdown firewall?

I lockdown my firewall everytime I leave the computer. I was wondering if this is actually going overboard, or is it safe to leave the lockdown off if I am going to be away from the computer for an hour or two?

Thank you for any suggestions

Welcome to the forum, Mark.

Doesn’t hurt, assuming you don’t run any essential software that require internet access like an AV that auto-updates or something.

But is it necessary? That really depends on your environment. For example, if you had a child who had accessed to your computer and…you know the rest.

Instead of locking down your computer log off and stick a password on. No harm can be done when your logged out. In regards to keeping children off, password your profile.
