allow the entire network so pc's talk to each other

I am trying to get my 2 pc’s to talk to each other.

I have renamed the workgroup on the pc’s so that they both have the same name. I then restarted the pc and firewall alert kept popping up stating that the system is trying to receive a connection from the Internet - what would I like to do? The application is system
remote: 192.168.1.101 - UDP
Port: nbname (137)

I just hit cancel but then found out that I needed to allow it in order for the pc’s to talk to each other so that I can use it as a home network.

How to I now set up the firewall to allow my local network or I wont see anything
I want to allow the entire network and that will be 192.168.1.0 (0 means the whole network)

I tried going to My Network settings and in the Local Area Network section adding the above address as a single ip address and as an IP Address with mask (with the ending / 255.255.255.0)

But I cannot get the pc’s to talk to each other.

How do I actually go about getting Comodo Firewall to allow the entire network???

I read that you should be able to ping the other computer if they are able to talk to each other so I tried that using the ip address found in the dos command ipconfig but all I get is “destination host unreachable” or request timed out depending on which pc I am trying to ping.

Any Assistance Would be GREATLY Appreciated.

First step is to go to My Network Zones (Firewall → Common Tasks) and see if there is a network defined for you local network. You may find something like 192.168.1.101/255.255.255.0. When it is there give it a name: f.e. My Network.

When there is no network defined create it using the Add button; let’s give it the name My Network and when adding an address use the option An IP address mask and fill in 192.168.1.101/255.255.255.0.

Now we ar going to use the Stealth Ports Wizard to make your local network trusted. Go to Firewall → Common Tasks → Stealth Ports Wizard → select “Define a new trusted network stealth my ports to Everyone else” → Nest → select "I would like to trust an existing “My Network Zone” → from the drop down menu below choose “My Network” → Finish.

Now you are done and try again.
