Allow IP out global rule

Hello.

I have a newbie question. One of many actually, but I’ll start with this one.

What does the default “Allow IP Out From IP Any To IP Any Where Protocol Is Any” global rule actually do? If I make an application rule for Firefox to allow outgoing traffic then it works whether I have an outgoing global rule or not. So what’s the point of having one?

Thanks,
Jan

I think that rule has been removed in v4.1

I have v4.1.149672.916 and it’s there.

They said they had removed that in the 4.1 version. You can delete it and then you will get alerts for outgoing connections but only for programs not whitelisted. You can check the box to make rules for safe apps if you like it better that way
