Alerts do not show, only notifications

Hello .

I have Win 7 (64bit) and CIS 6.3
When Antivirus finds a tread, I would like to be able to choose what to do (ignore once, add to trusted, block, clean, etc like I was used to do on CIS 5.x) but I only get notification that the tread has been blocked.

In the online manual I found following:
Note: Antivirus alerts will be displayed only if the option ‘Do not show antivirus alerts’ is disabled. If this setting is enabled, antivirus notifications will be displayed. This option is found under ‘Security Settings > Antivirus > Realtime Scan’. Refer to Real-time Scanner Settings for more details.

I have checked my settings under Security Settings > Antivirus > Realtime Scan and the option “Do not show antivirus alerts” is not ticked. But I still don’t get the alert (with options what to do). I only get notification.

This issue is only for Antivirus. The Firewall settings work as expected.

I tried enabling/disabling ‘Do not show antivirus alerts’ option, I tried ‘Show notification messages’ option in User interface settings, I even tried re-installing whole Comodo suite. Nothing helps

Any idea what else am I missing or doing wrong?

When you did the clean installation did you use a factory default configuration or did you import a previous configuration?


it was completely new installation. I have upgraded from winXP to win7 and nothing from previous installations was left there or imported…


Did you install CIS after you upgraded from XP to Win 7?

Please make sure that there are no left overs of previously uninstalled security programs around. Not all uninstallers do a proper job. Left over applications, drivers or services can cause all sort of “interesting effects”.

Try using removal tools for those programs to remove them. Here is a list of removal tools for common av programs: ESET Knowledgebase .
