After update, the option to "Scan my system" for Malware disappeared

Hello.

I was just informed of an update to Comodo, and I applied the update, so I am now running version 3.5.54375.427.

Prior to upgrading, on the Defense+ page under “Common Tasks”, there was an option to “Scan My System” for Malware and such.

After upgrading, this option seems to have quietly vanished.

Any word on how I can get it back?

Many thanks.

I believe it has been intentionally removed from Defense+ tab yet in CIS beta stage. The extended version of the scanner is now available under Antivirus tab. I’ve already asked could we (users of CF only) have back the simple version of the scanner either integrated to GUI or maybe as a shortcut in Menu Start, but I didn’t get any answer.

Wow. That’s troubling. Could be read as a bait-and-switch… hey you liked this feature of our product, but now we have removed it from the product where you used it, but you can buy it in a different product…

I hope that was not the thinking.

Nope there is nothing to buy here for CIS it’s free.

Only thing is the scanner is now only used during install and no longer available to CIS FW/D+ installs only.
Not sure of the reason but it’s gone… please feel free to post it in the wishlist maybe they’ll bring it back for FW only installs.

Hi Ronny,

Wondering about the "scan my system for Malware installation option also. Shouldn’t we do it? What if we reinstall the software is the option still there?

Thanks,

Frank

The GUI entry is gone, but it’s still there. Try this from the command line if you still like to use the “old” scanner.

“C:\Program Files\COMODO\Firewall\cfpconfg.exe” -a -p

Thanks for the info about parameters which activate the old scanner. But the file path has slightly changed since CIS release. The correct one is bellow.

"C:\Program Files\COMODO\COMODO Internet Security\cfpconfg.exe" -a -p
