adobe … sending update prompts too often and too aggressively. i blocked their access to my internet connection and that’s working but why do they want to update my security protection when i only use reader perhaps once a month currently if that much. adobe is trying to update my acrobat/flash which i don’t subscribe to: i mean i don’t have any adobe pay products. i’m interested in forum opinions on this. now, i will tell adobe that they are being a nuisance.
i mean i don’t have any adobe pay products
So you don’t use Adobe Flash Player?
I mean… why do they bother me?
I mean… if it is free can’t I just have it?
I mean… why do they bother me?
I mean… I allready have it, duhhh
I mean… why do they bother me?
I mean… who’s writing those updates? Guinea pigs?
I mean… why do they bother me?
I mean… looooool
I mean… they’re so stupid… loooool…
What do you mean with this? Are you referring to updating from Reader 9 to 10? That is worth your while security wise because of the user of sandboxing.
when i only use reader perhaps once a month currently if that much. adobe is trying to update my acrobat/flash which i don't subscribe to: i mean i don't have any adobe pay products. i'm interested in forum opinions on this. now, i will tell adobe that they are being a nuisance.Assuming that you don't have Flash Player installed there may be traces left of Flash Player that was once installed. Download the uninstaller from http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html and see if that does the trick.
All pay and free products from Adobe can be and are updated frequently (I have CS5, Acrobat Pro, Adobe Reader 10 and Flash Player installed). All receive updates and security updates for them.
Do update frequently, and try to verify by ip’s where those updates are coming from. cis helps alot.
I try to update daily and when i’m not doing anything… Flash, activex, java are often exploited… so these updates are trying to protect you most often… I did have one update get hijacked with packet injection once… which is why i ask you to verify the ip, and scan after and during (if possible) the update process. make sure all possible protections are enabled before updateing or downloading anything!
