Activation Failure on Vista

I know Vista isn’t officially supported yet by CAVS, but since everything seems to work except Activation (both scanning and updating are fine, for example), I figured I had a setting messed up somewhere.

I’m running 32 bit Vista Business and get an error message when I click the Activate button. The program does appear to be connecting with your servers, because it tells me when the Activation Code is expired (so Windows Firewall isn’t interfering). I’ve used CAVS in Windows XP on the same machine without any problems, so I guess it has something to do with the changes in Vista.

If there’s a work-around, I’d love to hear about it. Meantime, I’m hoping CAVS is updated for Vista before the Trial License runs out.

The trial license doesn’t actually expire. The app will continue working, but you will get a nag screen on each system startup. That’s the only diffference. Activated or not activated, it’s free and fully functional for life.
