I received the new Comodo update and took a while to install and after that, I noticed in the defense + that, there is a scanning option for detecting malware. Is this malware scanner good at find spyware, adware and other potentially unwanted programs and does it do a better job than windows defender. Because if it is good then I will uninstall windows defender.
Does Comodo firewall pro provide realtime protection against spyware, adware and other malware, even when the defense + is disabled.
Does Comodo offer regular database update updates(at least daily) to detect new malware.
The scanner built into CFP V3 has no real time capabilities at all. It is purely an on-demand scanner. It is using the scanning engine that will underpin the upcoming CAS V3. It appears to be highly accurate in its detection (test sample with found 100% of 160+ latest malware live sample loaded) and exceptionally fast in its scanning.
One small note - ensure your regular realtime scanner is temporarily disabled when you runthe CFP scanner to see its true speed - very impressive.
The database update feature is, for the time being, turned off, but will be enabled shortly.
