Sometimes a program will use svchost.exe for updating.

Iirc the updater of Adobe Acrobat Reader will first try to use the internet connection its self. When that does not work it will try to use svchost.exe and it that is not working it may try Background Intelligent Transfer Service (XP only). In short you may need to look in more places to catch certain updaters.

That’s a good point. Those programs I mentioned are blocked by Comodo when Avast’s web shield is turned off. I tried to update Super Antispyware’s definitions too, they are allowed when Avast’s web shield in on but get blocked when it’s off. So I guess this problem isn’t fully fixed.
