In your before last post you posted three virus alerts. I was noticing that these alerts related to Xenocode, nowadays called Spoon Tools, and its sandbox.
This tool can be used to run executables and be independent of the platform it is running at. May be the vm that is being used interferes strangely with your Windows. See if uninstalling the application that is being run in this environment makes the strange things you see go away.
Did you look up the files at Virus Total? Please provide us with the links to the reports.
I have seen a similar vm once before when I was cleaning malware from one of my brother’s computers. It had Hitman Pro falsely report rootkit activity in the folders of the program that was wrapped in the wm used.
