Are you running CID portable or did you install it?

Try installing CID again and see if that fixes it or not.

Thanks for the info on the new IceDragon version, yigido!

However, if you click on the big red download button on that page, you will not get version 45.0.0.5.  Instead you will get version 40.1.1.18.

Go here and click on the orange 'Free Download' button to get version 45.0.0.5:  https://www.comodo.com/home/browsers-toolbars/icedragon-browser.php

SecureDNS service was brought back as an option and SiteInspector link scanning was added as a new feature.

Installing 45.0.0.5 seems to have fixed my Help -> About IceDragon update problem.  But I experienced a problem where this error message appears a few times during installation of IceDragon.

Thanks for posting the attachment, DarkGuyver.  I got the same error message when I installed an upgrade from v42.0.0.25 to v45.0.0.5 on a Windows XP SP3-32bit machine.

When you click OK on the error message, it pops up again and click OK one more time to complete the installation.

For those that are using auto-update and encounter this error, you will most likely not see the error message but it will be more than enough to cause the auto-update process to fail.

The same problem was reported with IceDragon v44.0.0.11 on page 1 of this thread.

Yeah, I figured that is what was causing the problem.  Funny thing is the Help -> About IceDragon check for updates function seems to work better now.  I guess it must have been a problem with the 44.0.0.11 update

Hi military,
I am not sure what happened to the Web Inspector or the Secure DNS options, sorry.

Also I am not sure why the Comodo Secure DNS option is no longer available from the GUI, but following the instructions below will enable it.
1) Type about:config into the address bar and enter.
2) Click the 'I'll be careful, I promise' button.
3) Type comodo.securedns.enabled into the search bar.
4) Double click the preference name that appears and change the value from false to true.
Use the following link to verify that it is active.
http://welcome.dnsbycomodo.com

Edit: Disregard the above workaround as it doesn't work as I initially thought, sorry for any inconvenience.

Kind regards.

Delema. Did full install of IceDragon 9AM 4/25 from this site, for V 41.1.1.18. But at 11PM, using 'about icedragon' and 'check for updates', it says a new version is available. Noticed my icedragon.exe is dated 10/5 and is V 40.0.2.5757.
Pointing to the item and righ-clicking 'properties' then 'details', the display has product version 40.1.1.18 and file version 40.0.2.5757

When I do the 'tools' and 'add-ons', there is an announcement that there is a new FireFox release. The button would go to: https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/new/?scene=2

But when I use Firefox, I am already on 45.0.2 which is the latest release.

I do not have automatic updating on, not even checking for, ever since I encountered a bogus 'Flash needs updating' popup and ended up with a rogue copy with virus or malware. Have even seen a phony Adobe look-alike screen want to download from a non Adobe site their version of the Flash program.

Question #1 is did I really get the latest install (10/5) this morning or not? I will do a manual 'upgrade' in a few moments since I now refrain from automatic updates.
Q2; is the FireFox upgrade message a result of my unknown IDC version?

I do believe I uninstalled IceDragon a week ago, including history, etc., and moved an empty Comodo folder to recycling before the fresh install today. This would explain the folders dated 4/25. All the exe/dll items are 10/5.
