Hi Shoonay,
We are able to produce the issue with your configuration, it's under investigation.
Seems you got lot of rules!

Thanks

Umesh, you mentioned some time ago that many rules in firewall/HIPS/Containment might produce a bit of lag when saving the CIS options after changing something. And since CIS config is saved into registry, is it possible/safer/faster to save CIS config into normal configuration file instead of registry?

It would be just as slow if settings were saved in a file. You are limited by file I/O performance of the storage medium.

I don't believe that, when on Samsung Evo 850 and i7 4771 saving options takes 6-10 seconds at least ;)

How are you measuring performance? Is it the time it takes for the window to close or the amount of disk activity after saving? Do you have a lot of rules? Do you use create rules for safe applications for either/both firewall and HIPS? And finally do you have enable adaptive mode for low resources set in HIPS settings? If you want to really test the differences you could find the installer for CIS v3.x the latest being 3.14 which supports up to Windows 7. I'm pretty sure the settings where saved in a .ini file back then.

Hi guys,

I have a problem with this version of CIS and the program Process Hacker.
When I have both installed with CIS 10.0.1.6246 without Secure Shopping everything was worked well.

After update to version 6258 and enable secure shopping all versions of  PH (Process Hacker 2 and 3) has crashed at startup.
Then, uninstall Secure Shopping but PH continues crashing.  :o  :o :o

Finally I have doing more test with CIS in real and virtual machine and I have found that disabling some driver of CIS, PH ran again well but CIS no, obviously. 88)

So, I'm here with the hope that somebody has the same problem or that a new bug was reported, but after a quick search, nothing about it...
I cannot believe that I'm the only person that have problems with PH and this CIS version.

Anyone have any problems with process hacker?  Have I to make any special rule for this program?

The time when one thread is 100% busy during saving the CIS settings in registry, and yes, I have a bit of rules, especially in firewall, that's why I was opting for options file solution again, which would be certainly faster to write, instead of writing to registry (a large database), when it is already quite big. If that happens to Pentium 4/Core Duo owners...
