Can I install this on top of v7 or should I uninstall it before? Eventually, can I export my v7 settings and rules and import them all in v8?

I would recommend a clean install. It was mentioned in beta testing that importing the config from 7.0 doesn't work out properly. If you don't want to do a clean install, I would suggest waiting and use the internal updater when it's ready.

Is the auto-sandbox default "Run Virtual" i.e Full Sandbox now?

And default "Run Virtual" for installers too now?

Explain your case unless you talking about a .MSI or something trying to install a driver ?

mm, It worries me  :'(
It is caused by the fact that it is tested in a virtual environment and the test file is copied between host and guest according to the head developer egemen:
Right so the new default configuration keeps track of files downloaded from the Internet or coming from the removable or network based media. We have collected telemetry information for about 2 years and found out that automatically sandboxing unknown executables from these sources will prevent infections.

In your case, you are testing with some VMs and have specific scenarios. You need to fine tune either CIS or your environment. CIS is flexible though. By all means you can simply switch to old way of doing things. All you need to do is to go to Rules #3 in auto-sandbox policy and remove all source criteria.

I attached the screenshot.
The problem will not happen on a real machine.

yes the default autosandbox runs files as fully virtualized now instead of partially limited

OK. Do we get notification when files are run virtual? Coz I tried clt.exe from testmypcsecurity. It was sandboxed but no notification & no green border. Default CIS settings.

I guess installers default also changed from partial to virtual, right?
i.e when we try to install unknown program & get a popup with options run isolated, run unlimited, etc... I guess now run isolated option on the popup means virtual & not partial, right?

Great job guys, this release is looking rather good! Been running it in a VM as well just to test stability and usability, as i am aware of the virtual machine issue with CIS and malware. Have to say, installation/set up has greatly improved, very smooth..   :-TU

Am I the only one where several attempts to clean install consistently result in "Fatal Error 1603", followed by a very inappropriate Congratulations-screen?

I'm back to version 7.0.317799.4142.
