They most likely decided to not enable it for the majority of users because it is so new and still under development and any issues with it could cause major destruction of data. 88) I'm sure they want it to mature some more before enabling it by default.

VC should be active outside of the sandbox, for example if you're only using HIPS, however during my testing so far I haven't been able to get VC to react on anything.. Not sure if it's a bug or an issue on my system, for now I expect the latter.

Correct me if I'm wrong but won't VC get more behavior mode updates to detect more things with time? I suspect that's why it's not so 'active'.

!ot! Can you guys just let us create white/black lists from apps list for nonblocked/blocked apps in firewall settings? it's really easier way and saving more time than just jumping from option to option...or I just missed something...  !ot!

Yes, however I made a program specifically for testing the current recognizers during the beta. With the beta and RC it worked fine but now in final none of the supposedly active recognizers are working for me, I'm hoping it's just an issue on my end and not with this build.

Hi all.
Updating from 5 to 6 required a deep cleaning of the PC from any trace of previous security programs. Not a nice job...

What about updating from 6 to 7? Does it require the same deep cleaning or can 7 be directly installed on 6?

Webfilter protection.

1) Is it just local with a local actualized database?

In other words, do we get a local list of malicious URL, and comodo firewall looks if the computer tries to access one of these URL?

2) How often does it get updated?

3) Which component updates it? (Antivirus or program update?)

4) What feeds the webfilter list?

I've just done a straight uninstall of 6 using Revo, and 7 has installed without a hitch. Also, import of old configuration went smoothly and avoided a whole load of fiddling.

I really appreciate this wonderful product  :)

Shared Folder isn't appearing when I installed so I can't save my files in sandboxed browser mode. :(. Ok was able to fix it by just adding the shortcut to it. :D

Not able to replicate this issue here, using same program but Win 7 I get an alert. QA are trying to see if they can replicate.

If you have HIPS on and do not allow recognised behavior, probably there will be no alert. If you allow the recognised behavior using HIPS there should be an alert. Well AFAIK anyway :)

VIRTUAL DESKTOP DOS NOT opend   :-\

Please reset the sandbox, reboot and then try again.

If you are using MS Security Essentials please uninstall MSE or try the techniques: here

Alternatively please try a reinstall using Chiron's method here.

Hope this helps

Does anyone know which file is used to store the "Trusted Files" list? It used to be trusted.db in the database folder, but that folder is now empty.

Would also like to know this.
Thanks

You should be OK without a clean unless you have installed a Beta version. The underlying technology (frameworks etc) are similar in 6 and 7. I have done several VM updates without issue. You may need to activate your original config after install - so maybe take a note of the name of the one you have active before upgrading - though the 4115 fix list suggests this might not be needed any more.

However a clean install will still reduce the risk of problems.

I did a little test.
CIS 7, AV not installed.
Internet Security Config
Autosandbox disabled
Viruscope enabled

malwareblacklist.com - Tried 7-8 .exe links from top. No malware detection (Dont know if the cloud has prob if autosandbox is disabled or those malware were not there in database cloud. But got VC alert & clicked clean. After that I was getting window data execution program blocked explorer  often, after restart too. Dont know it was due to other malware or VC cleaning. Dont know which malware VC detected & if cleaned/reverted or not. If anyone wants to try just go to malwareblacklist.com & try 7-8 .exe links from top, page 1st, hopefully links dated Mar 6 & 7 2014, currently just 7-8 exe links of these dates are there & hope you will get VC alert & check.

God, when they are going to remove additional stuffs from the installer. 45mb installer is turned into 220mb. Guess time to uninstall CIS & look for other AV.
