Comodo AV Database update page

Can you please check again? We had a migration on backend, that lasted a bit longer than we planned.

What is the expected values for each item in the summary below? My CIS AV database is 26807 and it was last updated 6 hours ago, webpage also indicates 26807 as latest and running the AV update again does not download a newer database.

Number of Definitions Added Today:   12161

Why does the page https://www.comodo.com/home/internet-security/updates/vdp/database.php
not show any updates (all categories are empty when I try to expand them), and the version is at 27770 (of midnight GMT), while my CIS installation says it has 27769 (last update 3 hours ago,  i.e., after midnight GMT) and when I update manually, no updates are available?

Is that always one version ahead and when that version is released, we can download it and at the same time, the database version on the web site moves ahead again by one?

Yes, now these numbers are consistent with each other.

Not that my life depends on it, but expanding the categories below the summary still does not do anything except change the "+" to a "-" :-)

More than 50million signatures  I wonder how many of these are useless (old) signatures?

Signatures are never useless because you never know who may meet whatever malware out there in the world.

If you think wisely, old signatures are taking space on my drive. Old signatures must be in cloud and the most recent, newest malware signatures must be in database. Malwarebytes does this, Avast does this.. they keep last 3 months of samples signatures in their db.
All these 50million signatures running in my RAM.. openin folders with full of .exe files takes time day by day... signatures are growing... Never ending story.. What will happen in 2025 ? 150million signatures as local database, it will be 1GB file 

We need more generic signatures and powerful heuristics... these are my opinions but Comodo can continue with old techniques..

That's a sound idea especially because CIS has a sandbox as well.

Generic signatures are in the making. May be Melih can shine a light where things are with this.

I totally agree with you, the up-to-date signatures should be kept, and old ones would be removed (just tested on the cloud and re-initiated if needed). We'll start a process soon to clean this up.
