I did the same thing after I found that 8.4 was crashing my machine when a USB stick was plugged in. I did a clean of version 8.4 and install version 10. The USB crashing has gone away but now the machine can no longer be managed via Comodo One. Has anyone else had this issue? Does anyone know how to get version 10 (with the Comodo One Agent installed) talking to the Comodo One Cloud platform?

Also why is version 8.4 being deployed by default from the cloud platform?

Hi, could I ask for one clarification please? What do I do if I am on a 64-bit Windows 10, and unable to uninstall Comodo CIS 10 (incomplete update) through the standard add- and remove programs?

I interpret the above downloadable tools pinned to the first post in this thread as that they are only for other versions of Windows and Windows 10 32-bit?

* Problem stemming from failed update to CIS 10.
* I've tried Microsoft's own fix to the Add & remove programs issue, it only changed the error message. Now it's saying "this is only applicable to programs that are installed".

Thanks,

In "3. Uninstall Comodo Internet Security/Comodo Firewall (CIS/CF)" is explained to use the uninstaller "Revo Uninstaller".

Then in "4. Clean Up Any Remnants Left of CIS/CF" are three more requests to use uninstallers while I only know about "Uninstaller Tool v0.3b".

1 "Then those users running Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7 should run the extra removal tool which you were asked to download through section 2."
2 "Then also run the other removal tool downloaded, and follow the steps in the following paragraph."
3 "All users, including those running Windows 8, should now run the removal tool, which is safe for all versions of Windows, to remove any leftovers from Comodo Internet Security."

I'm a bit confused and wonder if that is intended or by mistake.

your not the only one who is confused, looks strange to me and why are we being told to use 3rd party uninstallers to fix this problem which is clearly caused by remnants of an old comodo installation, can't you give us a manual guide on how to remove the problem files of registry entries? alot of 3rd party software is bundled with all sorts of crap these days and i did try downloading the reccomended win10 uninstaller from techspot i think it was via your link and tried to install and got a unusual runtime error which was suspicious to me. The main link to the first download you gave just took me to a comodo login screen, be nice if you could list the names of the software there so we can google the links.

I get an install error 4294967295 when i try tio install the latest comodo firewall, i'm using the latest files for win10 and it's a new pc, i do have old versions of comodo which i tried to install on here as i prefer the older versions of comodo which where way better in my opinion and many security experts reverberate this by saying how the later versions do not give total protection and any good hacker can bypass the latest versions sadly but i don't have any other options now im stuck with the dreaded windows 10. Just hoping to be able to get the thing installed now :o) please take us back to V5.5 when it was great(any tips on how to get that version working with win10?)

Run this tool and use run as administrator run this after uninstalling any old version of comodo firewall from apps & features. Make sure you reboot after the uninstall an using the removal tool.

I need help. I use Windows XP and I can't uninstall Comodo 10 Antivirus.
When I use Revo the first three points are fine but at the fourth point (search of files/entries that are left over) Revo gets frozen.
I have also tried the normal uninstall by Control Panel of Windows but even that gets frozen.
What can I do?

Use this tool then try uninstalling normally. Then use this to remove if it doesn't uninstall without freezing followed by the new removal tool. Make sure to reboot after using each removal tool.

Use this tool

I have used it and I have deleted the item Comodo

then try uninstalling normally

When I start Revo I no longer see Comodo among the programs. It's impossible to uninstall it.

I wonder if vkise.exe (Internet Security Essetials) running is the one that impedes the complete uninstallation of the antivirus.

I would reverse the order of which tools to use. I would suggest to boot to Safe Mode and follow the following order
Then use this to remove if it doesn't uninstall without freezing followed by the new removal tool. Make sure to reboot after using each removal tool.

I to cannot uninstall CIS 10 - Even when i go in msconfig and disable it from startup and the reboot the CIS processes still run. Like alot of the posts above an upgrade to CIS hung and did not complete. I now have spamodic errors with windows services and SENS. I have gone to live support who reset winsock but again this is a temporary fix - maching booted up fine for about 4 days then hung on shutting down forcing a hard reboot. All in all Comodo should have their own bespoke removal tool that can be run by Geekbuddy online support, since they cannot trust the programme to be out in the public domain! Comon Comodo get your act together!!!

Try Autoruns in Safe Mode. It will do a better job.

What makes you think it is CIS causing this? Is this with CIS installed or uninstalled? That's not  clear from your description.

Best thing to do is to run the mods removal tool linked in the topic start and run in as admin in Safe Mode.

Its a fair shout to ask why I think this problem is linked to Comodo - Its hard to prove other tha to say it was not a problem before the upgrade. But until I can remove and re-install I cannot test. I have tried  sfc /scannow that found no errors with the system services. Unfortunately I don't have a restore point that was created before the upgrade. My Mod tool do you mean "COMODO Removal Tool 2014 - Mods version"? tried that! Also Autoruns by Sysinternals - but this is far from use freindly and and which one to use Autoruns.exe, Autorunsc.exe, Autoruns64.exe, Autorunsc64.exe. At the momemt I seem to have stability for a couple of days. By unchecking CIS 10 in MSconfig start up I now don't get the comodo icon in the hidden desktop icons - task bar bottom right. One thing that might be a clue is that after booting up If I go to control panel and review system security it takes what must be 40s plus before it updates to say - Comodo is on! - This seems strangely slow. I have scanned with 3rd part root kit detectors from Kaspersky and this found nothing. Ultimately  Comodo through Geegbudy should have a bespoke uninstall program! Thanks for the posts!!

When looking at the system events logs this seems to crop up before most issues "The server {51FA2736-5DEE-11D4-98E8-006008BF430C} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout." Not sure this helps to pin down a promlem!!
