Can I cancel Comodo DNS and reset my DNS to original defaults?

I just recently installed Comodo Firewall. During installation, I was prompted about changing to Comodo secure DNS, so I did that. Ever since, my internet connection has slowed appreciably. I did not note my original DNS settings.

Can you tell me how to opt out of Comodo DNS and restore my ISP’s default DNS settings?

Thank you in advance,
Terry

Hi and welcome Terry Riley,
To remove Comodo Secure DNS select ‘Obtain DNS server address automatically’ in the final step of the instructions in the link below.
Windows XP - Manually Enabling or Disabling Comodo Secure DNS
Windows 7 / Vista - Manually Enabling or Disabling Comodo Secure DNS Service

Kind regards.

Brilliant, captain sticks. Thank you so much!

I noticed that the “Use the following DNS service addresses” was selected, ■■■■ the DNS addresses were not 8.26.56.26 and 8.20.247.20, so I’m guessing that the Comodo Secure DNS choice automatically locates the secure DNS server most appropriate to my location.

Anyway, thanks again,
Terry

Hi Terry Riley,
I always thought that ‘156.154.70.22’ and ‘156.154.71.22’ were Comodo’s older DNS settings, but I am not sure why they still get used when installing CIS.

Kind regards.
