Are there any disadvantages in the portable version?  How reliable is it since it's not by the official developers?

It is exactly the same as the normal version, except, of course, it is portable - you can carry it around on a USB stick and use it anywere. I've used it before, and never had any problems with it.

You can even copy your preferences from the normal version into the portable one, if you like.

Hope this helps :)

The maker has altered the opera.exe file though. I'm not sure what he's done but there is a difference in file size, and when launching Opera, it says USB something in the title. Also, the default settings are different. E.g. it cleans private data on program exit, unlike the normal Opera.

Yes, the exe has been modified, and does not have a valid signature.

Properties, Version, Company (for OperaUSB.exe) says Opera Software changed by Obermair Markus.

opera.dll has not been modified and has a valid signature. :)

Yes, I tried it for a while and it stores the browsing data in the user's profile folder on C: and then delets them on exit. I can't unforget if the data are overwritten.

This is the Unite version; I don't use or want that, so no new toy for me :(

Roll on a few more updates and then the new engine (:CLP)

There are also other updates in 10.10:
Quote
These builds are simply a continuation of 10.0, with more bug fixes, plus Unite.

I use the latest 10.10, but disable Unite. ;)
