How to backup cwaf(apache) installed with cwaf agent installer.
« on: September 24, 2018, 12:14:01 AM »
Hello,

If I wish to tar and archive the whole cwaf install to backup or test and/or move to a new server.
What directories would I have to archive and move?

currently I would guess the following would at least be needed (when using apache):
  /etc/httpd/conf.d/mod_security.conf
  /etc/httpd/modsecurity.d
  /usr/local/cwaf
  /etc/httpd/conf.d/userdir.conf

Hi forsec.
We offer to use CWAF plugin to install CWAF rules with proper adopted default settings.
All changes of configs you will do on your own risk. Simple copying of CWAFs folder won't give you the proper work of CWAF scrits like updater.pl and doesn't register it in cron, managing excludes list, enabling/disabling rules and etc.
