Even for those of us who have been with CIS from the beginning, this seems complicated, so I would hope that it can just be run easily in out of box state and there will be no need for new users to go into advanced features.

I too would like to see CIS6 with the best possible defaults, so that users can use it safely out of the box.

Melih,
do you guys have some kind of roadmap for next versions like 6.1, 6.2, etc.?
Is it a secret or you can share some thoughts with us?

Egemen's Words...

"We provide virtualization where it is relevant to use it. Instead of running every unknown application virtualized(remember we are talking about millions of applications installed in millions of people when we talk about unknown app base), we simply virtualize web browsers where 90+% of the threats come from."

What does the bold above means?

If I understand correctly, there will be a shortcut of virtualized browser & the users needs to use that. So it means anything you download will have to be taken out of the virtualization to use it on real system.

I think this will be an issue for majority of users i.e average users. Sandboxie is so popular but still it is not popular amongst the average users.

I had hoped version 6 is going to be easy & simple for average users & everyones security software but it doesn't seem so.

I can say this, CIS 6 with its default installation settings is quieter and easier to use than CIS 5. It's also faster & seems to have much less impact on system response/resources (once the optimization stuff has kicked in). But, if you want to make things more complicated.. you can.

You should hold the negativity until you've tried it yourselves. :)

Kail,

You are right.

I think it would be better to comment after we have our hands on CIS 6 Beta.

Agree with you here. After we test the beta opinions will be totally different. It remains to be seen when the public version will come out.
