our computer crashed and we had to format the harddisk. Unfortunately we did not do a backup from the e-mail certificate. If we now revoke that certificate in order to have the certificate reissued can we read our previously (with the old certificate) encrypted mails or is that impossible?

Please email Support by submitting a ticket on here: http://support.comodo.com/ and they’ll reset your certificate so you can apply for another one.
