How do I know that I'm using TrustConnect?

I'm on a cruise a and the ship internet connection uses a commercial isp and for all use you must log in before being able to get access. When I enable TrustConnect an icon is shown at the bottom of my Win 7 screen. I then log on to the internet provider to obtain connection. At some point, the icon disappears and I'm connected but can't work out if I'm on vpn or not.

So how can I tell if my connection is secure. Thanks for help.

(May be an easy answer by on bought TrustConnect a couple of hours before joining cruise so didn't have time to test operation)

 First, you need to connect Internet and check if you really have access to Internet.

 Then you may activate TrustConnect VPN connection.
