CMS does not see SD card

I just wanted to do a backup to move files to a new phone and I noticed that the backup is created on the device and not on the SD card. When I moved around the menus a bit more I also noticed that CMS thinks that no SD card is installed, although most of my apps as well as any other file that can be off the device memory is on the SD cars roughly around 15Gb ... I noticed this issue was already reported way back in 2013 ending the report with a promise to fix this ins an upcoming version, but obviously it's still not doing what it's supposed to do.

Full scan does read and scan the external SD card.
There is no option in Backup/restore to use the external SD card.
