« Reply #152 on: July 13, 2014, 02:28:10 AM »
Hi,

Been using Comodo products for long - would appreciate some help on the following -

CMS 2.5 + signature version 38.104
Device - Karbonn A9+
OS version - 4.0.4

Can't access the Private communication section - error msg
"This feature is not available for devices not supplied with SIM cards or SIM card is not inserted."
Please refer screenshot.

My device is a dual-sim device and has both sims inserted and working.

Thanks in advance.

I would then recommend you visit XDA Forums community for your phone, they can advise on the process to make your SD card accessible again. ☺

Hi Bitspirit,

This is a bug report, so I will merge this to that topic to bug report.

We are going to check this out and fix it if we can reproduce the issue.

Best regards,
Ilker

Ilkers, could you please fix (again) the bug of muting sound when a call is missed? This is becoming very irritating.

Google’s open source software team has come out in the open, criticizing firms selling antivirus software for Android and other mobile devices.

If the argument is "DiBona argued that mobile devices, while not flawless, are inherently more secure than personal computers.", I might agree with him.

However, we had a lot more on personal devices to loose then other devices (personal images, bank accounts, social media accounts, mails, SMS, contacts and much more...)  Also, these devices are with us 7/24 which makes them even more important to be safe. I do not want anybody else to record my conversations or capture video, photo on my daily life.

But if they claim there is no malware on Android and nobody needs protection, I might doubt that we are on the same page. We all know that there are malwares that harms devices and steal data.

This is regarding my earlier thread -

Can't access the Private communication section - error msg
"This feature is not available for devices not supplied with SIM cards or SIM card is not inserted."
Please refer screenshot.

Some comments -

1. I believe the issue is occurring due to blocked access to IMSI/MSISDN using the privacy module.
2. This started happening after the last update - used to work fine earlier.
3. There should be an option to disable the private communication as & when required.

Will await fixes - have been using Comodo on my PC as well as mobile and will keep using them - good products.
Appreciate the effort. :-TU :-TU

I believe (and in my case) that my PC holds a lot more data then smartphone, from emails to downloads, to documents to network shares etc etc..
Installing apps only from official store will avoid 99.9% of any scamware/malware problem.
The problem is when you installing aps (modified apk's) that contain who knows what. But on the other hand then you'r the one to blame !

John could you please write down your device brand, model and OS version with language? We would investigate it.
