You need to rein in your excitement over this product.
I was looking for a replacement for ClamAV due to its performance issues when I found Comodo, which I am nicknaming Comod-No.

I am running Ubuntu 14.04 LTS on a well stocked machine. A fresh install of your latest Comodo today has the same errors folks on this forum have been complaining about for a few years - the Diagnostics failure with  Driver Name="redirfs" Status="Failed" &   Driver Name="avflt"  Status="Failed".

I've read many entries on this issue and while some folks are claiming success with updates you've provided, I'm calling BS on these. Why is this latest release having the exact same issues people have reported for years?

I'll give this post a few days to see if anyone has a solution, but for now, its back to ClamAV.

The Kinta solution (posted a number of times on these forums - do search) has enabled me to keep Comodo Antivirus for Linux going properly even with Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Beta 2). I keep a copy of the 'driver.tar' file supplied by Kinta in my downloads folder and every time there is a Linux kernel update simply substitute it for the previous driver.tar (actually, still the same Kinta driver.tar which needs to be pretend-substituted via gksu nautilus) - So it is still working now with kernel Linux 4.4.0-18. I'm just wondering when or if Kinta's driver.tar will suddenly fail... Also there is still the pfaff of having to do 'sudo /opt/COMODO/post_setup.sh' after every kernel change and driver.tar substitution in order to accept the licence agreement again - but hey, it's free for this home user!
Who knows, maybe COMODO will release a brand new version one day?

We don't know. It looks like CAVL may be another abandoned project.

It obviously is an abandoned project - but you can still use CAV for Linux with a few fixes. The Kinta-Japan fix finally failed with kerenel 4.8, but see last few posts on these forums here for a new fix from charlie_xstar that I have found does work, and appears to be safe....

If, on the other hand you are prepared to pay (not all that expensive), ESET has a perfectly good user-friendly gui-based realtime protection antivirus for Linux.

Please note whilst it is still on the Main Forum and not in Discontinued Products there is a reasonable chance it will be updated at some stage.
