2015-03-31 : Antispam Gateway 2.3 arrives

Hello guys ‘n’ gals,

On Tuesday 31 March we expect to go went live with the upgrade of ASG (that’s AntiSpam Gateway for the uninitiated).

You new features are:-

[ol]- Geolocation of user logins. From the ‘Users history’ menu item under ‘Account management’, you are now able to see the country and IP address from which your users are logging in to their private mail management portals.

  • Geolocation restrictions. Found in the ‘Incoming’ menu, Geolocation restrictions allow you to define the list of countries from which users are allowed to log in to their private mail management portals.

  • Quarantine release reports. New report which allows you to view which emails your privileged users have been releasing from quarantine.

  • Reported Spam reports. Another new report which lists the emails your users have been reporting as spam.

  • Spam review capability. New feature in the Quarantine container whereby mail administrators can review the content of emails classified as spam. This allows administrators to make an informed decision on whether to release the email or not. Note that domain level administration privileges are required to read the spam email content.

  • Quarantine alert emails. Administrators can now elect to send real-time notification mails to users whenever one of their mails is placed in quarantine. This is disabled by default but can be enabled under the ‘Spam detection’ settings menu in the ‘Incoming’ menu. End users can opt in or out of these notifications by logging into their accounts, opening ‘My Profile > Account Management’ and selecting their desired option in the ‘Enable quarantine alert’ dropdown.

  • Administrators can now sort through their mail-backup archive to display only spam messages and delete the spam as required. This makes it a little easier to conserve archive storage space.

  • Administrators can define ‘Auto-forward’ rules so that email can be filtered and forwarded from one user’s mailbox to another user[/ol]

And saving the best for last

  1. If the appropriate permissions have been allocated, your users can now release mail from quarantine, whitelist senders, blacklist senders and delete mail from their quarantine directly from their quarantine reports
  2. If the appropriate permissions have been allocated, your users can now release mail from quarantine, whitelist senders, blacklist senders and delete mail from their quarantine directly from their quarantine alerts (see point 6 above)

Note: Both items 9 & 10 require the admin to enable user auto-login & set the life-span of a secure token from the Domain settings configuration under the Incoming menu.

The Comodo Antispam interface will be automatically updated on release date, so you need take no action other than logging in as normal.

If you still haven’t experienced the joy of ASG, go to www.comodo.com/tryASG and behold the wonderfulness for yourself

Looking forward to your comments,

Keep calm and filter spam,

Michél
