I'm testing this beta now and the program gets better and better!  (J)

The only problems are minor;

1. The installer should resume automatically after restarting post uninstall of the previous version.

2. I have COMODO Backup installed and the COMODO App Launcher doesn't add it after CPF is installed.  How to manually do that without reinstalling Backup?

I would like to announce the availability of Comodo Firewall 2.3.2.21 at

http://www.personalfirewall.comodo.com/download/CPF_Setup_2.3.2.21_BETA.exe

What's New?
-----------------
- Added support to detect breakout-wp leak test(A second variant of breakout leak test),
- Added protocol analysis logs(Previously the firewall was dropping packets silently when packets failed protocol analysis)
- Fixed some small bugs

When you say added protocol analysis logs, are you saying that there is a 2nd log other than the one that can be viewd from the GUI?

Where is this log located?

To see it,

try the following : ping -l 1024 www.host.com

All I saw was an alert that ping.exe was trying to connect to the internet. I allowed it and got a timeout.
I'm totally confused.

Just check your logs. you should see something like this "Protocol Analysis(Oversized ICMP Packet)"

No, nothing there, but I understand now -  the  GUI log has been expanded to include a new description.  I need to call it a day.

I'll try and see if I can get the "Protocol Analysis"  to show up in the log from home...

Thanks,
Al

Anyway of turning off oversized ICMP packets checking or at least the ability to specify a custom maximum size?

No. Not yet. You will be able to modify intrusion detection parameters in the future versions.

Run the new installer, choose to uninstall the previous version, and after the windows restart, the installation didn't start automatically...

Besides that, everything seems to work OK...  ;)

USing the new Beta with no real issues.  I do sometimes get "funny" looking popups where the "details" mention an application that doesn't even relate to the actions... like finding Explorer.exe or GoogleTalk.exe in the details while Firefox.exe asks for permission to connect to the web.

I've noticed some small bug related to running Firefox. Every time I've started CPF asked me for permision using random single TCP port. I had to go to Application Monitor, edit FF Application Control Rule and change Remote Port from single to any. That fixed the problem :)

Thanks for the reply.  I do run CPF in "Medium" verbosity mode, so I don't get rules for every port... but sometimes I scratch my head wondering if the Details presented for the some popups (quite rare really) just don't seem to belong to the popup.

I do run CPF in "Medium"

I run it in "High", maybe that's why :)
