I am having the same problem that a lot of other people are having. My CCE apps just disappearing right after that start scanning. I find it quite odd that so many people should start seeing the same behavior at about the same time. I have been using the same version of CCE (no updates except virus database) for the longest time and it worked fine up until about a week ago.
So either this is a problem with one of the downloaded virus signatures or somehow CCE is trying to do something “suspicious” (perhaps like calling home) which causes it to crash now.
